Terms of Use
Last updated
These terms cover your use of the PreWatch app and this website. By using PreWatch you agree to them and to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement, which covers the app you download from the App Store.
What PreWatch is
PreWatch helps you learn English vocabulary from films and series before you watch them. It doesn’t stream, sell or link to films or episodes; you watch them wherever you already can.
Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google. One account is for one person. Keep your sign-in safe; you’re responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete it at any time in Profile → Settings → Delete account.
Free and Premium
- Free: the first episode of every series, the films marked free, and reviews of the words you’ve learned.
- Premium opens every film and every episode. It’s sold in the app as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in your iPhone’s Settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Lifetime means Premium for as long as PreWatch is offered.
- Apple handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Deleting your PreWatch account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription.
Title requests
A request is a vote, not an order. The most-wanted titles are added first, but we can’t promise that a title will be added, or when. You can request 2 titles a day. Once added, a title can be free or part of Premium.
The content
Word lists, quotes and timestamps come from subtitles and are shown in short excerpts to help you learn. Film and series titles, and the lines quoted, belong to their owners. PreWatch isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by any studio, network or streaming service. The posters in PreWatch are original illustrations.
Meanings, levels and word lists are made with the help of automated tools, including AI, and can contain mistakes. Tell us when you find one.
Fair use
Don’t copy or resell PreWatch’s word lists, scrape the app or its server, reverse-engineer it, or use it to break the law. We may suspend accounts that do.
Changes to PreWatch
We keep improving PreWatch, so features and titles change. We work to keep it running, but we can’t promise it will always be available.
Liability
PreWatch is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for PreWatch in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law.
Ending
You can stop using PreWatch and delete your account at any time.
Changes to these terms
We’ll post changes here and update the date at the top. If you keep using PreWatch after a change, the new terms apply.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR COUNTRY], without taking away the protection of the consumer law where you live.
